When Beth Wiggins, New Mexico, needed help on the way to pursuing her accounting career, the Kappa Foundation was there to offer support.

In 1974, Beth was preparing to take the CPA exam. In the five years since she had graduated, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants had passed over 30 different rulings on accounting processes and procedures. Beth decided it would be beneficial to enroll in a review class at the University of Houston before taking the exam. Beth's father-in-law graciously paid for half of the course, but she needed help funding the remaining cost. To help cover the expense, Beth's mother suggested she apply for Rose McGill financial assistance. After receiving a grant and completing her course, Beth passed all four sections of her CPA exam on the first try, which was an exciting feat.

The support Beth received from Rose McGill prompted her to start giving back to the Foundation financially. The Foundation does great things, she says. It has inspired her to continue giving as long as she's able.

Beth has generously included the Foundation in her estate plans. When she and her husband were determining beneficiaries for their individual retirement accounts, it was a natural choice for Beth to include Kappa. Beth's loyalty and support are creating a widespread ripple of positive change for future generations of Kappas.
