A financial adviser leverages the power of planning.

As a senior vice president at Morgan Stanley and a financial adviser for nearly 40 years, Sandee Hill Smith, Rollins, knows the power of a plan. That's why she's established a planned gift to support scholarships and leadership programming and to preserve Kappa Kappa Gamma's heritage.

"My friendship connections have brought me the most joy from Kappa," Sandee says. "Your college experience with a sorority is whatever you make of it, but the lifelong relationships that you establish outside of your college years when you need them are what keep you engaged." In addition, Sandee shares, "I want to help ensure that every woman who wants an education can get it. If women get an education, they will be able to leverage it for the future and I want to help."

It is those relationships and heartstring moments that keep Kappa in Sandee's plan, inspiring her to give back annually as well as through her planned IRA gift. "I want to help ensure that every woman who wants an education can get it," she says. "If women get an education, they will be able to leverage it for the future and I want to help."

"I knew that my family didn't need all of my retirement income, and this was a great way to leave a legacy for Kappa. If the law still permits me to give directly from my IRA to Kappa when I reach age 70½, I will make my planned gift over a two-year period so I can see the impact while I am living."

Sandee encourages every Kappa to look at their financial situation to determine if their family needs their retirement resources. "If they don't need all of your resources," she says, "think about where that money can have the most impact." For Sandee, that is Kappa Kappa Gamma.
